Greenpeace’s Naughty and Nice List

Greenpeace recently published its 6th "Guide to Greener Electronics".  Among tech companies, Microsoft and Nintendo got poor marks for not being environmentally friendly enough for the environmental group.

Getting on the right list can be extremely rewarding for companies, but few consistently put forth the effort that is neccesary.  Many "Best of"  or "Top 10" articles are published as a result of  sophisticated processes that involve complicated entry procedures and survey methods.  A vigorous PR effort is usually required. Lists help consumers make decisions.  A well edited list, such as those increasingly being published in the mainstream media, present potential customers with choice, which they like, but not an infinite or unmanageable number of choices that might overwhelm them.  Ultimately, lists lend structure to possibility and, in a highly competitive market, can give your business the edge.
